Terms of Service

Candlefolio is currently invite-only: account creation requires an email address the operator has specifically approved. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away at support@candlefolio.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it reasonably up to date.

Candlefolio is for your own personal trading journal and reflection. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in a way that doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

Candlefolio includes features for connecting with other traders — friends, chat, comments, and reactions. You agree to treat other users respectfully when using them.

You agree not to:

• Harass, abuse, or threaten another user.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
• Scrape, systematically extract, or bulk-download content from Candlefolio.
• Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages through Candlefolio.
• Interfere with or attempt to disrupt Candlefolio's security, infrastructure, or normal operation.
• Misuse another user's private information, including anything shared with you as an accepted friend.

Candlefolio may restrict or terminate an account that violates these Terms.

You own the journal entries, screenshots, messages, comments, and other content you submit to Candlefolio, and you are responsible for it. By submitting content, you give Candlefolio the limited permission it needs to store, process, display, and transmit that content in order to operate the features you use — for example, showing your own journal back to you, or delivering a message to the friend you sent it to. This permission exists only to run the product for you; Candlefolio does not otherwise use your content for its own purposes.

Some content you create — a limited, non-financial subset of your journal entries, plus anything you post in chat, comments, or reactions — may become visible to an accepted friend, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you choose to write or share once you have an accepted friend, the same way you would be with any messaging or social feature.

Candlefolio is a journaling and reflection tool. Nothing in Candlefolio is financial, investment, tax, or brokerage advice, and nothing in Candlefolio is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or instrument. Candlefolio does not promise that using it will make you a more profitable trader or improve your trading performance — that depends entirely on you.

Candlefolio is in active closed beta. Features may change, break, or be removed; the service may be interrupted or unavailable at times; and, while we take reasonable care with your data, beta software carries a real risk of bugs, including ones that could affect stored data. Please don't rely on Candlefolio as your only record of anything important.

Candlefolio may suspend or terminate your access for violating these Terms, misusing the service, or abusing another user. You may stop using Candlefolio, or request deletion of your account, at any time.

To request deletion of your account and data, or to ask a question about these Terms, email support@candlefolio.com. Candlefolio will respond to a deletion request within 30 days.

Candlefolio is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, during this closed beta. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Candlefolio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the product. Nothing here is meant to limit liability for something the law doesn't allow us to limit.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Candlefolio may update these Terms as the beta evolves. If changes are made, this page's effective date will be updated. Continued use of Candlefolio after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
